Will the AI make things up?

It's built not to. It only uses your business details, your FAQ and real lookups, and it says when it doesn't know. It never says something is booked unless the booking really went through, and the system double-checks that. See What the AI will and won't do.

Do customers know they're talking to an AI?

On the phone, the standard greeting says "I'm the virtual assistant". If you write your own greeting, keep a line like that. In chat, the receptionist uses the name you give it, or "your business's assistant".

Can I keep my phone number?

Yes. Ask your phone company to forward calls you don't answer to your Just a Good Guy number. See Keep your existing number.

Why aren't my texts going through?

In the US, carriers require businesses to register before texting customers (A2P 10DLC or toll-free verification), and approval can take weeks. Also check the customer hasn't texted STOP, and that you haven't used up the month's texts. See Texting in the US needs registration.

What happens when I'm busy and someone calls?

During your call hours your cell rings first. If you don't answer, or it's outside call hours, the receptionist picks up. If the call ends without anyone being helped, the caller gets a text with your booking link. See How a call is answered.

Does it work with my website?

If your site builder lets you add code to every page, yes: WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, Shopify, Webflow and plain HTML all work. If it doesn't, use your booking page link. See Add the widget to your site.

I don't have a website.

You don't need one. Share your booking page and QR code, or ask us to build a site.

Can my staff use it?

Yes. Invite them from your team settings. They see their own schedule and get alerts for their own bookings. Each person can have their own hours and time off.

Do I need Stripe?

No. If you pay for your plan by card, that goes through Stripe, but you don't need a Stripe account of your own. Customers don't pay you through Just a Good Guy: take payment the way you do now.

A customer asked me to delete their information.

Open their profile and delete them. That wipes their contact details and everything the receptionist remembered. Check their past messages too. See Deleting a customer.

I made a booking in the test drive. Is it real?

Yes. Test-drive bookings are real, so cancel it in your calendar.

For developers

Where do I get API keys?

More → Developers. The publishable key (pk_...) goes in your web pages. Secret keys (sk_...) are for your server and are shown once. See Authentication.

Is there an OpenAPI spec?

Yes, at /api/openapi.json. It's generated from the same schemas the server validates with. Browse it in the API reference.

Why does my booking request get 409?

That time isn't available any more, or never was: it's taken, outside working hours, inside the minimum notice, or too far ahead. Fetch availability again and use an exact start from it.

Why are times numbers in one API and strings in the other?

The public API uses milliseconds since 1970, which is easy in the browser. The REST API uses ISO 8601 strings. Both are UTC.

How do I know a webhook really came from you?

Check the X-JAGG-Signature header with your whsec_ secret. There's code for Node, Python and PHP in Verify the signature.

Can I build my own chat window?

Yes. POST /api/public/chat streams the reply as Server-Sent Events, with cards for times, bookings and code checks.

The widget doesn't show on my site.

Open the browser console and look for a [GoodGuy] message. The usual causes are a wrong or revoked key, a site that isn't on your allowed sites list, a Content Security Policy that blocks the script, or a cached page.
