Go to the sign-up page and enter:

  • your name
  • your email
  • a password (at least 8 characters)
  • your business name

That's it. You land in the dashboard, and your business already has a public booking page at https://justagoodguy.us/b/your-business-name. See Hosted booking page and QR code.

Tip

The dashboard works well on a phone. Add it to your home screen so alerts reach you (on iPhone, web push only works once the app is on the home screen).

Let us set it up, or do it yourself

The first card on your dashboard asks whether you want us to set things up for you.

  • Message us. Tap Talk to us and tell us about your business. Send your logo and photos right there. We build or connect your website, set up your booking assistant and pick a plan with you. You get a notification when we reply.
  • Set it up yourself. Follow the guided setup below.

The guided setup (optional)

Setup is 9 short steps. Each one shows "Step 3 of 9" so you know where you are. You can skip a step and come back to it later.

  1. Your business. Name, timezone, phone or email, and address.
  2. What you sell. Your services: how long they take and the price. See service kinds.
  3. Your team. The people customers can book with.
  4. When you work. Your booking hours, and your call hours for the phone. See call hours vs booking hours.
  5. Booking rules. How much notice you need, how far ahead people can book, and whether you approve each booking.
  6. Your customers. Import your customer list from a spreadsheet (CSV).
  7. Your receptionist. Its name, tone, greeting, anything it should know, and when it should hand over to you. Longer details, like policies, aftercare or parking, go in Menu → Business info any time.
  8. Get found. Add the widget to your site, upload a site, or share your booking page.
  9. Test drive. Chat with your receptionist the way a customer would.

Several steps have a box where you can describe things in your own words, like "Mon to Fri 9 to 5, Saturdays till 1". The AI fills in the form for you. Nothing is saved until you tap Next, so check what it filled in. You can also import details from your existing website.

Important

Bookings you make during the test drive are real bookings. They show up in your calendar and the confirmation goes to whatever phone or email you type. Use your own details, and cancel the booking afterwards.

Put it where customers find you

Pick whichever fits. You can do more than one.

  • You already have a website. Paste one line of code into it. Add the widget to your site has steps for WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, Shopify, Webflow and others.
  • You want us to host your site. Upload a zip or a folder in Dashboard → Website. See Hosting your website.
  • You don't have a site yet. Share your booking page link and QR code, or ask us to build a site for you ("Build it for me").
  • You want it on the phone too. Get a number or forward your existing one. See Phone and texting.

Go live

When you're happy, tap Go live. Two things have to be in place first:

  • at least one service, so customers have something to book
  • your working hours, so the AI knows when to book people

If either is missing, the dashboard tells you which one.

Your booking page and widget already work while you're still in setup, so you can try them before you go live.

What happens next

  • New bookings, call-back requests and messages show up in the dashboard, and you get an alert. You choose push, text or email for each kind of alert.
  • Each morning around 7am (your time), owners and managers get a short email with the day's bookings and what the assistant did yesterday. Turn it off in your notification settings.
  • If a customer asks for a person, or the AI can't help, it hands the conversation to you. See What the AI will and won't do.
